• Check back soon for our 2019 Meeting Schedule!!

Reptilefest will be April 13-14th, 2019

  • Founded in 2012 as a subset of the Chicago Herpetological Society, the Junior Herp Society (or Junior Herpers) is about sharing the love of “herps” (amphibians and reptiles) with the younger generation while fostering an appreciation of wildlife and nature through hands on interaction, educational speakers, field trips and opportunities to participate in community events.

The goal of Junior Herpers is to cultivate empathy, deepen curiosity and build a better understanding of the cold blooded creatures we study and share our lives with. Our dedicated members, amazing families and partnerships in the scientific community make it possible for us to share our passion of reptiles while facilitating positive interactions between children and herps of all kinds.
